The Train Of Life

Life is like a train. In both life and train, we embark on a journey with its’ stations, its’ detours, red, green lights and likely accidents. When we come to this earth, we are embarking on a train that our parents are already riding. They have more experience, love and money to buy tickets for us.

At first sight, we believe that we will stay on the same train with our parents. However, at a certain station, they leave the train and let us continue our journey.

As the train of life continues its’ route through mountains valleys, other passengers join us. Those are ours brothers and sisters, our best friends, our own husbands, wives and later, our children.

Many of those will leave the train at some stations ahead, leaving an empty seat around us, a seat that may stay empty for many years.

Some passengers will leave the train without saying goodbye. Others will leave and we will not even notice their empty seat until very late during our journey. We will have no clue of what station they exited the train.

This long train is complex. In some of its’ cars, people are very happy. They are partying. In others, people are sad. They are crying. Others wagons look like a jungle, with very good and bad surprises. The truth is, you don’t know what is going to happen next and nobody knows.

For you to enjoy the ride on this train, you must be compassionate, helpful, loving and caring. You will need to create a tissue of strong relationships with some passengers. You will need a mindset that does not invite fear in your heart. You will need to be confident and look at the bright side of the journey.

This train is a mystery because you don’t know at what time or station you are leaving the train. You don’t know who is going to exist with you when you do. You have no decision whatsoever.

Therefore, we should nourish our emotion of love, since it is the mother of all positive emotions. We should forgive and forget the shortcomings of others. We should consider what we give to others not, what we receive from them when we decide to create a relationship.

The train we are riding, we will never see it again after we have left because we live only once on this earth. When we leave the train, we leave memories to those who continue the journey. Which memories would like to leave?

Before you leave, see yourself out of the train already. Then ask yourself: is there anything I should have done on the train to make myself and the world better while I was still there? If you find the answer, act immediately so that you may have no regrets as you are descending from the train.

Become one of the happy passengers who complete their journey with a success celebration.
